I am wondering if you can tell me what your education is in regards to trauma therapy, sexual abuse, and PTSD?

Experience mosly. Trauma (rape)17 years ago. PTSD diagnosis for 8 years. In that time, I've seen 6 psychiatrists, 3 psychologists, 3 therapists, and 2 CPN's. Educated myself over the years, by reading, experience, and learning.

I don't profess to be an expert. I am just a survivor, like the rest of the members here. I give my own personal opinions, based on my own personal experiences.

Hi, i'm new today, i need to change my user name, i find that it is my full name and i didn't realize that that would happen. Please help me get this off of here and let me create a user name instead. I have no posts or anything yet that would be effected. Thank you.

Go to the 'forum' home page http://sexabuse.ptsdforum.org/community/
On the right hand side you should see a box that says "members online now".
Or top left of the page below SSA, click 'members', wait for the page to load, then directly below, "members", click "current visitors".

CB, Instead of laying in bed crying I'm here& feel safe & understood. This site helps alot of people.A lot I can't share, but I've NEVER shared this much.I don't even say the "R" word. I only say the gist of what happened. Here I put words to my thoughts & feelings. So thank you for the time & effort you commit to this site.

From what I've read wonderingWhy, you are making a great start. It's not easy to share what has happened to us. It has taken me a long time to get to where I am. But I would encourage anyone, to share, becasue it starts to remove the secrecy, & guilt we often feel.

      Lol okay okay

Yea I understand that. Just some thoughts you don't want everyone to see but want to get them out, so its good to have a private place.

At the moment, you are the only member of survivors group. Anything you post will only be seen by you, me and anthony. Of course that will change, but only trusted members will get access.

Okay, so who see's what you post. Is it only people you give permission to?
      1. cherryblossom
        cherryblossom
Yeah - just survivors. Members who have a sound posting history, that I'm happy are 'genuine' members. The only exception to that is Anthony, and myself. As admin we both have access to 'survivors only' and 'family and friends only'. As the site grows, that might change.

        Good!

I've also added a description of the private groups/forums. If you hover over forums on the forum home page, you should see a description pop up, where it is warranted.

It's not an issue for me to add you, if you are around for a few minutes to check that you have access?

Ok - you should now have permission to the survivors only forum. There aren't currently any posts there, but you should see an option to 'creat a new thread'. If you could let me know?

If you would like access, I'll see if I can add you to the 'survivors' group. But I have to work out how to do it!! (I'm still not very good with this new forum)

Hi...just joined here and have been on the ptsdforum for a long time. I have some questions about the private portions of this site. Also is there a chat area here? Please let me know...
